Open Letter to Members of the U.S. House of Representatives
Wednesday 11 June 2008 at 04:26 am Please set Party politics and selfish personal career aspirations aside, and consider only ethics. I would actually ask, nay DEMAND, that you do this always, at all times, but in particular now with respect to the thirty-five articles of impeachment which Representative Kucinich has submitted against President Bush. You swept his impeachment effort against Vice President Cheney under the rug already; will you now also do the same again? Will you now allow Bush and Cheney to retire from elected office with a proverbial golden parachute, and do nothing to hold them accountable for the crimes which they have committed which have damaged the entire nation?
I respectfully suggest that you are afraid to do so precisely because of Party politics and the Good Old Boys' Club to which you belong, and the implied threat that what you do today might be used against you later when the other Party once again comes into dominance. Ethics leave no room for such behavior. Do you have the personal strength and courage to do the ethical thing, or will you submit to groupthink and do only what benefits your career and your Party, rather than the Nation and principles which you swore to uphold?
Do the right thing: ACT ON HIS RESOLUTION.
